30 September 2022 - 3 October 2022
Event Navigation

One of the most unique environments in Australia, the vast “mallee” eucalypt woodlands can be found near the Murray river northeast of Adelaide. Many rare and threatened bid species can be found and photographed here. The workshop is designed to maximise our time photographing these birds while in the evenings we’ll have tuiton sessions. Target species include Malleefowl, Red-lored & Gilbert’s Whistler, Black-eared Miner, Mulga Parrot, Chestnut Quail-thrush, Shy Heathwren, Southern Scrub-robin, Striated Grasswren, Mallee Emu-wren, Redthroat, White-browed Treecreeper, up to 8 species of Honeyeater including Striped, and many more. In the afternoons we will focus on the bird-rich wetlands of the Murray river with its many species of waterbirds and chances of Freckled Duck, crakes and rails, Regent Parrot and sometimes Banded Stilt. Join our expert bird guide Helga on this exciting adventure!
